I’ve got some posts brewing, but since I’ve gotten my sweet new smartphone, I’m not at my actual computer as much as I used to be.  So that I don’t forget, I’m listing them here.  Hopefully I end up typing up at least a few of them.

  • resolutions: a brief history of me being a freak
  • name them one by one
  • in-law Christmas and other miscellaneous in-law holiday fiascos
  • paranoia and starting fresh
  • church update

Piggy-backing on the church update item, we have a new worship pastor and he has a wife.  I like them both quite a lot so far.  Also, I learned yesterday that they are dealing with infertility.  Its a different brand than what we are dealing with, but this would be the first in-real-life person I’ve encountered on this same road as us at the same time.  I don’t wish this on ANYONE, let alone people who I actually like, but I was a little encouraged to know that its not just me alone in my day-to-day non-Internet-life dealing with this.  Plus, now if I do happen to get pregnant and stay that way, I have a reason to feel guilty and what is my life if not one wave of guilt after another?

Here are some pics from Christmas at my parents’ house.  These are from my sister, so if we have any good ones on our camera, I’ll add them later.  Christmas at the in-laws starts tonight.

This is Bill – the snowman my sister made.

Me opening a “gift” that my dad and sister picked up for free at a casino on the way home from the airport – my sister might or might not have a low-grade gambling problem and she might or might not have won $26 in scratch off tickets from the grocery store when we went with mom.

Yesterday, in the two-year-old room at the church nursery, one of the little girls volunteered to pray for our snack and as part of her prayer, she thanked Jesus for pretty dresses.

My heart was warmed…

Here is a picture of my updated hair and my shiny new phone.  I heart the phone.  I mean, if I wasn’t married already, I might marry that phone.

P.S. Could my hands look more awkward?

DISCLAIMER: THESE PICTURES WERE TAKEN WITH MY PHONE, SO THEY ARE NOT HIGH QUALITY.  I DO LOVE MY PHONE THOUGH, SO DON’T BE A HATER.  (DID I JUST SAY HATER?)

Now, without further ado…

I have a date on Friday morning with this studmuffin:

41.jpg

That’s right – over 4 hours with no one around that I have to share with.  He better be ready for some serious cuddles.

 This is our Christmas tree:

32.jpg

Due to the lights, you can’t see the ornaments, but I’m an old-fashioned kind of girl with a nice array of random ornaments with no color, shape or other common denominator.  I want to buy a smaller tree after Christmas this year, so that next year I can have a “pretty-tree” with some sort of theme to it.  Don’t mind the presents on the chair not wrapped in Christmas gift wrap – they were for the baby shower.

This is my nativity set:

For as long as I can remember, setting up the nativity has always been one of my favorite things.  I remember rearranging everything over and over as a very little girl.  This year I did something new (for me) and pointed all of the people and animals to the baby Jesus.  Usually I point them out.  I decided this year that it didn’t make sense to point them out.

I had a dream around Thanksgiving that one of my roommates from college was pregnant.  I text messaged her and told her about the dream and I didn’t hear back from her.  So, of course I knew.  Yesterday she made the official announcement.  Crazy.  I’m not even a believer in the who dream prediction things.  The rest of that same dream was completely outlandish.  Crazy stuff.

my house doesn’t come close to looking that good

The shower is over.  I need to host parties more often because everyone raved about how great my house looks.

I’m alive.  And I have new bangs.  And I love my new hairdresser.  And she got married on my anniversary.  And my haircut only cost $25.  And the salon is cool and trendy.

So, I haven’t been posting much.  No good reason – just that sucky reason that I’ve been busy.  I hate that excuse for pretty much anything, so I’m going to go ahead not use it here.  Honestly, I’ve had post ideas come up in my head – amazingly clever and witty posts to be exact.  Anyway, I’ve had the ideas, but I haven’t felt like sitting down and writing them.  How’s that for a lame-o excuse?

Not too much new with me other than the hair.  I’m still doing the temp work at the old job.  It was a nightmare of a mess when I got there, but I’m almost caught up.  Imagine that – I’ve worked part-time for 3 weeks and I’ve not only maintained, but caught up.  This chick I’m filling in for needs to be fired.

I’m hosting a baby shower tomorrow morning and have spent the day cleaning, decorating and cooking.  I feel really domestic today.  And have I mentioned that I hate showers?  I do.  Bridal showers, baby showers, whatever.  I hate them.  I don’t even shower-as-in-bathe every day.

Tomorrow night is the first big Christmas party of the year, followed by the second and third big Christmas parties of the year next Friday night.  Then, next Saturday I’m hosting my in-laws as they all come up to celebrate Husband’s Daddio’s 60th birthday.

The good and bad news right now is that the writer’s strike is still on as of my last viewing of my people.com  and eonline.com feeds ten minutes ago and so CBS is bring Big Brother back in February.  I’ve got to get a handle on my BB addiction.  Maybe I should not watch this season?

Yesterday was the first snow of the season.  It turned out to be a whopping 2ish inches, but you can rest easy knowing that anyone watching the news and half of the drivers on the highways would think it was a blizzard.  I’m sure we’ll get 4 times that much snow in January and no one will bat an eye.  Stupid people.

See how exciting my life is?  No wonder I haven’t posted.
