about the adoption timeline
04/18/2008: Initial meeting with adoption consultant.
06/27/2008: Conference call with adoption consultant. Contract signed – will be mailed after Husband scans it at work on Monday.
07/07/2008: Informational meeting with the social worker. Received binder of information/homework for home study.
08/13/2008: Approached by T about adopting her baby.
08/18/2008: Home study binder turned in.
08/22/2008: Met with T’s social worker. Decided to move forward with this baby.
11/21/2008: Baby’s Due Date.
11/24/2008: Baby’s Birth Day!
12/29/2008: Adoption Finalized!

I stumbled across your blog via wordpress’s tag surfer (“adoption”) and I felt compelled to chime in and say how I think your adoption story thus far is just amazing. I hope your experience is as wonderful as you hope. I’m also an adoptive mama and I recognize (oh so well) the laundry list of things you are going through (the paperwork! home studies! dealing with social workers!) even though my experience was a different type of adoption. It’s a fantastic journey – and so worth it. I’ll keep good thoughts for you, your husband, and the baby’s first mom, T.
