there’s always a silver lining

Congrats to Alex for winning the optimism award from yesterday’s post.

Today we got our application packet for the domestic adoption program at our chosen agency.

And we found out that we have to take an infant CPR class (luckily, the infant care class is waived for people who have previously had infants in their home – this is good news).

So, the infant CPR class…really, no big deal.

It was a major downer for me when I found out though.

I’m not sure why it felt like such a big deal.  I guess I thought we were done jumping through hoops and then, SURPRISE!  Another hoop to jump through.

Such is life, I suppose.

Don’t worry, soon I will be able to perform CPR on your infant.

Those classes can be tedious, but they aren’t bad. Take some snacks. Through years of paid childcare, I have taken dozens of those classes so I can already perform CPR on your infant. Or your child or your adult. Tip to impress the rest of the class who will all mess up the first time they try- you have to push much harder than you think you should.

believe it or not, i think our infant cpr saved us some serious something or other a few times…asher choked on a chip at a mexican restaurant when he was about 10 months old and i just looked at him, making little squeals in my throat. scott knew EXACTLY what to do, and later i said, “how did you know?” and he said, “duh! infant cpr at the hospital! weren’t you paying attention?”

OK…oliver will arrive into your home in 2 months. that is my predition.

    eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what is your schedule like next week? this week slipped away with the flooding…or, we aren’t doing anything today at all.
