beyond miss manners

Posted in mousie at 10:44 pm by Anonymouse

This morning, I dropped off our profile books and our last set (until a match) of signed forms, evidence of hoops jumped through, big fat check, etc.

And I’m not going to lie.

It felt good.

This profile book thing was tougher than I expected it to be.

And I still question some of it.

I’ve probably said it here before, but what do you say to someone who is considering giving you their child?

Their child.

Their.  Child.

*crickets*

Yeah, that’s what I thought.

It’s huge.

You have to say something.

You want to show them your heart, but you don’t want to come off as desperate.

You feel desperate, but want to feel in control.

You’re out of control, but yearn for peace.

Peace for you.  Peace for her.  Peace for the baby you hope you will share.

So, you have to say something.

What do you say?

Sometimes “please” and “thank you” just don’t cut it.

I remember feeling exactly the same way. But somehow, God takes our feeble attempts to communicate and turns it into something that will attract just the mother he has planned for us. It`s pretty amazing when you think about it.

I’m sure you did a wonderful job and it will find its way to exactly the right person.
