parades, funnel cakes and merry Christmases

Today, we took Baby Swiss to her first parade.

I was amazed at how well she sat through (almost 2 whole hours) of it.

It was the biggest parade in our state.

Go us.

So, I think this is the first parade I have been to in about 11 years.

11 years ago people did not bring their camping chairs to the parade.  They sat on the curb.

11 years ago candy was tossed rather than handed.

11 years ago parades were much less political.

11 years ago there were no free water bottles or popsicle.

In non-parade related news, I had a funnel cake today.

Also, I know at least 8 people who have a birthday today and many others who have birthdays within a few days of today.

It would seem Christmas is a popular conception season.

You are right. It was pretty much the same parade. But did yours start with Amtrack?

I did not have a funnel cake. The line was too long.
